In this analysis we look at the number of business establishments by industry for the County of Cuyahoga and compare that to similar data for the State of Ohio.The purpose of this analysis is to get a sense of just what is the economic landscape of the County when compared to the State and what conclusions if any we can draw from the data.
The industry groups that the various business establishments are broken down into are:
There are quite a few similarities between the number of business establishments by various industries between the County and the State. The largest discrepancy is in the Finance, Insurance and Real estate industry - we find that 13% of all establishments in the County of Cuyahoga are from this industry compared to only 7% for the State of Ohio. This is a discrepancy of 5.3% and is quite substantial. We feel that this can be explained by the fact that Cuyahoga County includes the greater Cleveland area and therefore has many more businesses in financial services and real estate serving the area.
Likewise we find that 13% of all establishments in the County are in the professional services industry for the County of Cuyahoga compared to 11% for the State of Ohio.Interestingly both the Construction and Retail trade industries have roughly 2% less establishments in the County as compared to the State.
With 37,175 business establishments the County of Cuyahoga has close to 14% of all establishments in the State of Ohio and that is a big plus for electrical contractors like Andy and Jose. The presence of more residential and business customers makes the pie of potential clients much larger for Lights On Electrical and we feel that this is one of the major advantages of locating our business here and making Cuyahoga County our primary target market.
