The occupational analysis of the target market of Cuyahoga County compared to the State of Ohio yields some interesting results. When looking at the Management, business, science and arts occupations we find that 38.2% of its working population of Cuyahoga County can be found in this occupation bucket, however these occupations only employ 34.4% of the folks in the State of Ohio. We think that since the target market of Cuyahoga County includes a concentration of large corporations and medical and arts institutions, this discrepancy makes sense. Large employers tend to locate in areas where there is a more viable pool of candidates and there is a large infrastructure of public transportation. This of course would be the Greater Cleveland Metropolitan area.
Service Occupations, Sales & Office occupations as well as Natural resources, constructions & maintenance provide jobs to 5.6% of folks in Cuyahoga county compared with 7.8% of folks in the State of Ohio.
Finally we see that a larger percentage of the population are employed in occupations relating to production and transportation in the State of Ohio as compared to the target market of Cuyahoga County - 15.4% for the State and 12.1% for County.
