In 2005 there were 39 roofing contractors in the Kent county, Michigan target market. However we find that number slowly dwindling down to 28 in 2008 as the real estate market slowed down and the demand for housing related contractors diminished. In 2010 however as the economy started slowly recovering from the great recession, we find the number of roofing contractors establishments in Kent county started growing and once again reached 39 in 2012 only to slow down back to 35 in 2014.Total number of employees:

This analysis demonstrates the cyclical nature of the roofing business. Like most other contracting services, the demand for roof installation, repair and replacement is impacted by the overall demand for real estate and overall level of employment in the local economy.
